I started the journey with Hilti as trainee where they trusted me to work in the Controlling Team despite my Engineering studies at INSA Lyon. I met dynamic and passionate people that gave me the desire to stay in this company where both the entrepreneurial spirit and the confidence given by the management are appreciable. I came back at Hilti for a second and last training in Logistics before integrating the company as full time employee in the Controlling Team as Financial & Planning Analyst mainly in charge of the Rolling Forecast for Western Europe. Hilti quickly trusted me, giving me more and more responsibilities and after 6 months as Junior Finance Business Partner for France, I am now Senior Finance Business Partner working closely with the Sales Vice President. 

The autonomy and confidence given by the management are strong identifiers of this company which is also special due to the fact it exists for 75 years and still have a young entrepreneurial spirit as you would see in start-ups.

During these experiences, I had great opportunity to learn a lot about Hilti business model and how finance can directly contribute to business performance. I had the opportunity to work on several projects locally in France (Ex: Review of sales force compensation), on regional level (Ex: Implementation of a centralized Hub reporting) and also on global level (Ex: Implementation of new Planning Tool). This continuous will to improve processes through shared leadership model in the Group is really motivating at Hilti. We have the power to implement our ideas and work as entrepreneur with colleagues around the world. As manager I have also the great opportunity to live Hilti people development strategy. It is one of the main argument that convinced me to join the Group, and I am really happy to contribute to make Hilti people grow in the organization today.

My passion has always been to find out what people want, what customers want, and use this insight to develop business solutions. So when Hilti offered me a role in their market research team – a global company close to my home town – I said yes, yes!
 
I was straight out of university, so it was a dream first job. From there, Hilti have given me opportunities to work with – and in – different countries, with people from all different backgrounds. The cultural experience has been amazing for me.

Hilti is a business that tries to do the best for its people, its customers and the company itself. But it’s strong on performance too, so my career opportunities have always been based on my performance, not my request. Of course I’ve then been able to reflect on opportunities and say yes or no depending on my family priorities at the time.

Twenty-eight years on, the opportunities keep coming – to learn more, develop my strengths and work on my weaknesses. At the same time, I really feel that I’m able to contribute to Hilti’s success, and Hilti expects that.

You could say I learned most about Hilti, and about myself, from my time as an account manager, out in the Hilti van. I learned that our customers don’t just want products; they want solutions to their problems in order to be successful. I also learned that I want and need people around me; I’m very much a team player.
 
I love that Hilti is a family-owned company, one that wants to be sustainable, to stay in business forever, not just for short-term profit.
