There aren’t many companies where you can go from territory sales manager to leading a team as area sales manager in just two years. But Hilti entrusted and encouraged me to do just that, which is the kind of thing they do.

They’ve always given me great support, from the excellent training and everyday teamwork to the feedback I’ve received to help develop and show my skills.

It works both ways of course, and I personally love supporting my team members with their day-to-day challenges and long-term goals. It’s so rewarding to help bring out the best in people and to improve their personal growth as well as the work stuff.

Profile summary

After university, I got the opportunity to start my career in Hilti, working for the leadership team in the Swedish organisation. I chose to work for Hilti because I could already in the interview feel that Hilti is a company that cares about values and about peoples, which was crucial to me.
 
Working with the leadership team provided me with great insight in the local organisation, but also the dynamics between the regional office and local offices. I also got the opportunity to closely listen to and watch how decisions were being made in the organisation.
 
After approximately a year I got the opportunity to become the Marketing & Brand Developer in the Swedish organisation, managing all brand related questions in the organisation, as well as developing new ways of working in the marketing team.
 
In end of 2016, I was asked if I’d like to do an international move within Hilti and relocate to our regional head quarter in Manchester to take on the role as Digital Content Specialist. Since I had not got the opportunity to study abroad when I went to the university, I was quick to accept the offer and moved over a couple of months later.
 
In my new role, I was leading the communication work stream for our new VIP programme that was being piloted in our region, as well as running various communication projects and creating digital content for our campaigns.
 
In January 2018, I was promoted to Project & Campaign manager for Northern Europe which was a new role which was created in establishing a professional campaign organisation in the region. A role that is truly challenging, but that my previous experience from both observing senior managers at Hilti and working actively in the brand community on both market level, and on region level has prepared me for.

After a further year, I joined the newly formed competence centre for Account Development as a Project Manager where we are working on creating worldwide standards for account development.
