What's the role?

The Field Engineer is responsible for creating opportunities through specifications and influencing key decision makers to deliver product/service sales within Hilti product portfolio and Engineering Services.

Within the WA territory, you will deliver strong account development with Specifiers, In-house Specifiers, and technical Influencers through effective design and implementation of individual account strategies which build long term, sustainable and profitable relationships with these accounts.

What does the role involve?

Work with a clearly formulated action plan to achieve goals to deeply penetrate the Specifier account making Hilti the preferred provider of hardware, software and services.

Work with Sales teams to identify key Inhouse Specifiers and Influencers and work collaboratively to influence the account making Hilti the preferred provider of Specifiable Products and Engineering software/services.

Apply over proportionate effort to VIP/Focus Specifier accounts to deliver maximum business value.

Influence defined Specifier and Influencers by adding value and building awareness of Specifiable Products and Engineering software/services through planned field visits, market reach activities, seminars and/or face to face interactions.

Build long term relationships with specifiers and influencers to influence and gain knowledge of specifications on projects and build Hilti solutions into specifications and standards drawings.

Represent Hilti as contact person for all engineering personnel associated with the project.

Pass all leads/information from specifiers and customers to Hilti sales personnel utilising Salesforce to facilitate spec conversion.

Identify and track progress of all Hilti relevant applications relevant to the project.

Active support and implementation of marketing initiatives.

What you need is:

  • Tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in engineering with a proven record of sound marketing and / or sales experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in engineering
  • Membership (or eligibility) to Institute of Engineers Australia
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, staff motivation and leadership are desirable.
  • Requires wide business experience and extensive knowledge of the company’s activities, with the ability to innovate and to communicate ideas effectively.
  • Maintains a persuasive and credible presentation style.
  • Ability to work to time lines and deliver superior results also under pressure
  • Effective planning to maximise productivity and customer-facing time
