What's the role?

Hilti Australia is seeking a senior leader with extensive logistics and people management experience to join our executive team as the Head of Operations. In this role you will lead a dynamic team of professionals and be responsible for the domestic supply chain activities encompassing warehousing, inbound and outbound logistics as well as oversee our Channels team (customer service and retail stores) across Australia. You will be a part of the executive leadership team in Australia and report to the Head of Logistics for South Asia Pacific located in Singapore and dotted line report into the General Manager of Hilti Australia located in Rhodes, NSW.

What does the role involve?

As the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for leading our materials management, warehouse, transport and Channels team, that comprises of customer service and retail stores, whilst driving our high performing and caring culture. The core focus of this role will be to develop and implement robust and strategic processes that will support continued volume growth, working in conjunction with sales, marketing and other areas of the company in line with the regional and global standards.

You will lead the Logistics team to fulfil the company’s requirements by optimizing the logistics network for both inbound and outbound logistics and maximising cost-effective solutions. This responsibility includes setting up and managing warehouses in Australia to cater to the requirements of the domestic customers and manage the deals, contracts & delivery for a complete procurement cycle, ensuring the commercial and cost saving benefits are realized at the P&L level and ensuring on time delivery. An important aspect of the role is identifying key projects that will improve service levels and cost optimization whilst being responsible for the implementation of LEAN.

Within the channels function, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive a world-class service and customer care experience. You will do this by continuing to drive innovation within these channels through developing new services and processes for our customers that will support strategic account development and ensure revenue growth. With your passion for efficiency, you will deliver results across the channels function whilst upholding our customer service commitment.

What you need is:

  • Master’s Degree preferably within Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing or related fields and ideally an MBA
  • Proven >10 years executive leadership in international companies including matrix organization
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic plan and vision keeping in mind business objectives
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines and objectives
  • Ability to think critically and make optimization decision based on data analytics
  • Experience in the LEAN tools
  • Commercial acumen with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Readiness to develop an international career
